Registration of Boats and Watercraft
- All boats, watercraft, including but not limited to
sailboards and jet skis, ice boats, snowmobiles, any
of which is hereinafter also referred to in the
Grandview Lake Rules and Regulations as
"boat", that are operated, placed, or used
on Grandview Lake must be registered with the
Secretary of the Association by providing all
information as required by the BOD. Download the

- No boat shall be authorized to use Grandview Lake or
be registered unless the same is:
a. Owned by an owner of a lot fronting on
Grandview Lake, or
b. Owned by the renter(s) or leased by the
renter(s) from the lot owner(s) of a lot fronting on
Grandview Lake.
The owner(s) of a lot, and their family and guests
shall not use the lake by operating any boat during
the term of any lease of such owner’s (s’) lot nor
during the terms of the renter’s (s’) use of the
lake.
No more than a total of three (3) renters of a lot
shall be entitled to register a powerboat owned by the
renter for use on Grandview Lake during a calendar
year; however, no more than one (1) powerboat owned by
a renter may be registered to any lot at any one (1)
time during a calendar year. The registration of any
such boat shall cease upon termination of the
renter’s lease, and such boat shall be removed from
Grandview Lake upon termination of the renter’s
lease.
No decal will be issued to register any boat owned by
a renter of a lot as long as an owner has a permanent
decal attached to any powerboat owned by such owner.
No decal will be issued to register any boat owned by
an owner of a lot as long as a renter of such
owner’s lot has a decal attached to any powerboat
owned by someone other than the owner.
Any lot owner who has rented a lot shall provide to
the renter(s) a copy of these rules prior to the
renter’s (s’) use of the lake and shall notify the
Secretary of the Association and provide the
information as required on the form attached to these
rules prior to such renter’s (s’) use of the lake.
Ownership of a boat can be established in the
following manner. (Either a. or b. as indicated
below):
a. Title indicating real ownership for boats purchased
after January, 1985;
OR
b. The BOD ("BOD" is the Board of Directors
of the Grandview Lot Owners Association, Inc.) may
require a person to submit other proof of ownership of
a boat.
c. A determination of the BOD that ownership of a
particular boat does not exist as represented will be
considered as a violation of these rules and
regulations.
- No boat shall be registered by the Secretary of the
Association, unless all dues and assessments of the
Association (both past and present) have been paid in
full on the lot to which the boat is registered and
the owner(s) of such lot is a member of the
Association in good standing. If any such owner is no
longer a member of the Association in good standing,
then the registration of all boats that are registered
to such owner’s lot may be revoked by action of the
Board of Directors of the Association and all of such
boats shall be immediately removed from Grandview Lake
and shall not be entitled to use Grandview Lake or any
properties owned by the Association during such period
of time that any owner of such boat is no longer a
member of the Association in good standing.
- Upon proper registration of a boat and if all
conditions are met as stated herein, the Secretary of
the Association will issue decals for placement on
such boat. All decals remain the property of the
Association and shall be put on a boat only by a
member of the BOD or by the Water Safety Chairman or
by his/her duly authorized agent.
- No boat shall be operated, placed, or used on
Grandview Lake unless the decals issued by the
Secretary of the Association (The Grandview Lot
Owners’ Association, Inc.) and lot number of the lot
to which the boat is registered is displayed on the
starboard (right) and the port (left) sides of the
boat, with a minimum size of the lot number to be as
determined by the BOD (Board of Directors of the
Grandview Lot Owners’ Association, Inc.) from
time-to-time unless the sides of the boat are not high
enough to exhibit such decals and lot numbers in which
case the Water Safety Chairman or his/her duly
authorized agent shall determine the placement of the
decals and lot numbers.
- The Water Safety Chairman, Secretary, or BOD of the
Association may issue a temporary decal to a lot owner
or to a renter of a lot upon such terms and conditions
and for such period of time as the Water Safety
Chairman or Secretary may, in his or her sole
discretion, determine.
- Any lot owner wishing to test a boat for possible
purchase may do so for a period of three (3) hours.
The lot owner must accompany the boat at all times,
and the Lake Safety Patrol Committee must be notified
prior to the trial period.
- The maximum number of motorized boats per lot shall
be limited to four (4). Boats in excess of that number
currently stickered may remain but may not be
replaced.
