All Lot Owners at Grandview Lake
Lake Safety is a subject everyone who uses the lake
needs to be aware of. We are fortunate that the incidence
of property damage and personal injuries on the lake have
been few. The reason is that for the most part, boating
rules are adhered to and most of the owners and those who
use the lake show common courtesy to others by following
the rules that help keep us safe. Through past experience
we have found that the vast majority of rule violations
occur when someone who is not familiar with the lake and
our rules, is allowed to use watercraft without fully
understanding our very basic lake safety criteria.
Violation of idle zone speed limits, going the wrong way
while in the boating lanes, violation of speed limits
after sunset, operating watercraft too closely to other
watercraft or to shore and operating “personal watercraft”
in an unsafe manner are probably some of the most
frequently violated rules. These rules are for everyone’s
protection and are the result of many years of trial and
error. We have found that if we follow the rules, the
chances of personal injury or property damage are very
small.
The lake safety patrol will be on the lake again this year
to help protect you and your guests. They are there to
remind people of rule violations they see and to issue
tickets when the need arises. We want everyone to know
that we take the rules seriously and intend to enforce
them to the best of our ability. We will need the help of
every lot owner to help us in this endeavor. There have
been some safety rule changes and we encourage everyone to
make themselves familiar with those modifications. The
violation of safety rules can result in respective lot
owner’s loss of lake use privileges for up to a 6 month
period for serious or repeated violations. We hope that
the Board will not be forced to take such action.
Please refer to the
master copy of all Grandview
Lake Rules & Regulations. Please refer to this document
in the event that you or anyone using your boat is issued
a ticket. You can also refer to the condensed “Rules
& Regulations for Use of Grandview Lake”. It’s a good
idea to keep a copy of this document in your watercraft
and to make all guest and friends who use your boat,
familiar with these rules.
A copy of the violation letter and the procedure letter
for mailing the violation letter may be found
here. Penalties for rule
violations can be found on page 10 & 11 in Section 8 of
the Master Copy of the rules.
The Grandview Lot Owners Association, Board of Directors,
wish you all a very safe and enjoyable boating season.
With everyone’s help and cooperation, we can all enjoy
another wonderful year on our beautiful lake.
